1,000 Journals
What happens when 1,000 blank journals are sent around the world and passed from person to person? Find out here. There are amazing images, writings, and ideas for your own work.
How would you feel about contributing to a sketchbook you would probably never see again? What would you say to strangers through your art?

Sabrina Ward Harrison
Sabrina Ward Harrison's work is an excellent example of the practice of journal-keeping. Her book, "Spilling Open," is a beautiful collection of works developed from her sketchbooks.

360 degree view of the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy
Such amazing photography and technology together; it's almost like being there!
(The last time I was there, I was fortunate enough to go in January. There was almost no one there! I actually got to sit down and stare at the ceiling for about a half hour. Amazing!)

MOMA (Museum of Modern Art)
The MOMA has an incredible site, with tons of resources. The "explore" and "learn" tabs at the bottom will take you to just about anything you ever wanted to know about modern art. There is an index of modern art terms in "the collection" page that can be very helpful for understanding some of the work. Explore, have fun! This is one of my favorite museums. :)

Happy Birthday, Jackson Pollock!
Currently, there is a wonderful Modern Art show at the High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, where I used to live! One of my favorite artists, Jackson Pollock, is featured. Here's a quick video about his work. (originally from 1/28)

“The painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is…an easy give and take.” - Jackson Pollock”
